Privacy Policy

What we collect and why

• Email address — to send login codes and run your account. Legal basis: performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
• Your meal-planning content (recipes, plan entries, grocery items, household name) — to provide the service. Legal basis: contract.
• Product-update emails, only if you submit the signup form. Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)); withdraw anytime by emailing us.
• Aggregate page counts (date + page path only, cookie-free, no IP, no device or user identifiers, no third-party trackers, no ads). Legal basis: legitimate interest in measuring usage (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Cookies

One strictly necessary cookie (ml_session, HttpOnly/Secure/SameSite=Lax, 30 days) is set only after you log in. No analytics or advertising cookies, so no consent banner is required.

Processors and data location

• Cloudflare, Inc. — hosting, database (D1), key-value storage and headless rendering for recipe import.
• Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) — transactional email delivery of login codes.
• Both may process data in the US under Standard Contractual Clauses / the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Retention

• Login codes: 10 minutes. Session tokens: 30 days (or until you log out).
• Account and meal-planning content: until you ask us to delete it.
• Newsletter emails: until you unsubscribe. Aggregate page counts: 24 months (they contain no personal data).

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing, to data portability, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Email mealloop@zalize.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Sharing

We never sell your data. Anyone holding your household's share link can see that week's plan and grocery list without logging in — share it only with people you trust, and use "Reset link" on the Share page to revoke it.

MealLoop is not intended for children under 16.
